So Shy It Hurts [Sonnet 1]

I watch her pack her books, about to leave,
Opens the bin to throw her drink away,
My soul within is sad and wants to grieve,
Why...you ask? For the Hi I did not say.

She’s thinking why does he not speak to me,
Truthfully I think he’s really handsome,
Dropped a million hints the whole journey,
In my heart, I feel as if it’s his turn.

It has to be the fear of rejection,
That restrains me back, body stays so still,
Thus filling me with such hesitation,
Forcing me to act against my own will

I truly cannot think of what is worst
Than being, oh so shy until it hurts.
